Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) is a state higher education institution producing human resources in education and non-education. Undiksha is the largest producer of high-quality educators in the educational field in Bali. Until now, Undiksha has produced more than thirty-three thousand graduates, mostly educators. The history of Undiksha began with Course B-1 to provide Indonesian Language Teachers in 1955 and Commerce Teachers in 1957 for high school level. In 1962 the two types of courses were merged into the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Airlangga. In the same year, FKIP joined Universitas Udayana and, in 1963, became part of the Singaraja branch of Malang IKIP. In 1968, FKIP was divided into two faculties, the Faculty of Teacher Training and the Faculty of Education, again becoming part of Universitas Udayana. In 1981, FKg and FIP were merged into FKIP Universitas Udayana. In 1993, FKIP separated from UNUD to become STKIP Singaraja, and in 2001 it became Singaraja State IKIP. The long process that the two types of courses went through eventually became Undiksha after IKIP Singaraja changed its status to Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) with Presidential Regulation Number: 11/2006, dated May 11, 2006.
