Young lecturers and educational staff attended Research Proposal Preparation Training at Undiksha with details of 41 young lecturers and 12 education staff. The training takes place for one day on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 08.00 to 16.00 WITA. This training occurred at the Sunari Hotel, Jalan Raya Singaraja-Lovina, Buleleng.
The Head of LPPM Undiksha opened the training, Prof. Dr. I Gede Astra Wesnawa, M.Sc. In his remarks, the Chairperson of LPPM hoped that this kind of training could be further improved in quality and quantity. The head of LPPM emphasized that participants take the training seriously from beginning to end because he considered this training beneficial for lecturers and education staff to increase research capacity.
The Chairperson of LPPM also explained research policies within the Ganesha University of Education and the efforts that have been and will be made to increase the competence of Undiksha lecturers to research and publish their research results in various forms and modes.
Speaker 1, Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Suarsana, M.Sc., delivered a presentation about the DRPM policy in research. The presenters also described preparing a good proposal and shared tips and tricks to produce a competitive proposal.
A question-and-answer session was opened at the end of speaker 1’s presentation. Some of the participants enthusiastically asked several questions where almost all of the questions that arise are related to preparing a good proposal so that it is competitive and can be funded. The speaker straightforwardly conveyed suggestions and answers that were quite satisfying to the participants, especially the questioners.
Speaker 2, Dr. rer. grout. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Suryaputra, S.T., M.Sc., presented relatively the same material as speaker 1, but speaker 2 emphasized the DRPM research scheme and TKT calculations. The presenters also conveyed research outputs, especially articles for publication in journals. Examiner 2 also provides several strategies for writing competitive proposals.
A question-and-answer session was also opened at the end of speaker 2’s presentation. Some of the participants were excited to ask questions similar to the questions in speaker session 1. However, some participants asked for quite a bit of detail regarding the research scheme within Undiksha. Speaker 2 responded well by providing appropriate and satisfactory answers to the participants.
Next, speaker 2 performs a proposal review. Several proposals from participants were taken and presented at random. Speaker 2 provides input to the proposals explained. The feedback provided is useful for improving the proposal so that later it can compete at least in the scope of Undiksha and provide initial knowledge on how a good proposal is prepared.
