The biopori movement in Buleleng is increasingly being carried out by environmental activists. This time, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) and the Biopori Warrior Community installed as many as 200 biopori in Sambangan Village.
The Coordinator of the Undiksha Community Service Institute, Ketut Sudiana, said that implementing the campus held community service activities about education and training on making biopore holes in Sambangan Village.
Sambangan village was chosen to be the destination for making biopori because it is a watershed environment that supports the area below it.
Sudiana said that biopori is useful for rainwater absorption, processing compost, fertilizing the soil and keeping nature sustainable.
Undiksha together with the Biopori Warrior Community donated 200 biopori and three drills. The handover was at the same time training on making biopore holes which was carried out at the Sambangan Village Temple.
This activity was carried out with the Sambangan Village Perbekel Nyoman Sudarsana with Kelian Sambangan Traditional Village Ketut Sentana, BPD members, LPM Chair, stakeholders, Babinsa, Babinkamtibmas, leaders, and villagers, Friday (26/06/2020).
Meanwhile, the Head of Sambangan Village Headquarters welcomed the biopori manufacturing activities carried out by the Undiksha campus and the Buleleng Warrior Biopori Community.
“We welcome Sambangan Village to become an Undiksa pilot project and the biopori community as a village for making biopori,” said Sudarsana.
He hopes that in the future people can apply and apply biopori in their respective homes.
A total of 200 biopori will be installed in village temples, village offices, LPD offices, elementary schools, workshop houses, and village kelian houses. “We hope that when residents know how to make and function biopori, they will be able to jointly disseminate this information to all residents,” said Sudarsana.
