Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), through its Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM), conducted a training session on proposal writing for Community Service programs on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. This program aimed to enhance the competencies of young lecturers in crafting efficient and effective proposals for community service initiatives.
The event featured two esteemed keynote speakers: Prof. Widnyana from Mahasaraswati University Denpasar and Prof. Putu Indah Rahmawati, Ph.D., Head of the Community Service Center at LPPM Undiksha. Their presentations covered various aspects of proposal writing techniques, challenges in implementing community service programs, and best practices for engaging directly with communities.
The training was officially opened by the Head of LPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, who emphasized the critical role of community service as part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In his remarks, Prof. Suparta highlighted that community service is an essential responsibility of lecturers, reflecting the application of academic knowledge to contribute meaningfully to society. He stated, “A university should not become an ivory tower solely focused on academic activities. It must provide tangible benefits to the community through the dedication and efforts of its lecturer.”
This program also served as a platform for improving the quality of community service initiatives at Undiksha, ensuring that every project undertaken has a significant impact on community empowerment and knowledge advancement. Participants were encouraged to apply the insights gained from the training to develop well-structured proposals with a broader and more meaningful impact.
