Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through its Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM), organized a research proposal writing training for lecturers on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. This initiative aimed to enhance lecturers’ skills in crafting high-quality research proposals and to encourage the development of innovative research within the university environment.
The training is part of Undiksha’s effort to encourage the advancement of knowledge and technology through impactful research. The Head of LPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M.Si., highlighted in his opening speech that the research plays the important role in the ranking of educational institutions and serves as a means of personal branding for lecturers. To this end, Undiksha remains committed to supporting impactful research activities through various strategic measures, including funding.
“Research must create meaningful impacts, both for the institution and for the lecuturers themselves,” stated Prof. Suparta. He further noted that in 2024, Undiksha achieved a significant increase in research funds from the national resources, tripling the amount received in 2023. This achievement, he explained, is the result of dedicated efforts by the university’s research center in providing guidance and organizing quality training to improve proposal writing skills.
Prof. Suparta also emphasized the importance of publications as the primary output of research. “Publication is a responsibility. If a lecturer fails to produce a publication within two years, their research proposals will be suspended in the third year.” He cautioned.
The training attended by dozens of young lecturers from various faculties, featured two distinguished speakers, Prof. Dr. Parmin, S.Pd., M.Pd., snf Dr. Gede Indrawan, S.T., M.T., the secretary of the Undiksha Research Center. The sessions covered critical topics, including the technical steps in proposal writing, selecting relevant topics, and designing appropriate research methodologies.
This initiative is expected to provide significant benefits for lecturers, enabling them to prepare research proposals that are more structured and eligible for funding, thereby enhancing the overall research quality at Undiksha. Through this training, it is hoped that Undiksha’s lecturers will be more motivated to innovate and contribute to the research field, ultimately creating a positive impact on the advancement of knowledge and technology in Indonesia.
