The community service was carried out by lecturer Lola Utama Sitompul. It was held in Bali Mandara State High School Buleleng, Bali on July, 15 2023. Several representatives from the Reasearch and Community service institution, LPPM Undiksha and 10 teachers attended the activity. The main aim of this program activity was to strengthen the understanding of equality and gender justice capacity for teachers’ career development at Bali Mandara State High School.
Lola Utama Sitompul stated that gender inequality is a widespread issue that proves challenging to overcome as it is deeply rooted in societal norms and beliefs. A lack of comprehension regarding gender equality concepts is one of the factors leading to gender inequlaties within communities. There is no exception at Bali Mandara State High School, the assessment report card for gender equality climate is still in the “pioneering” category. Therefore, it is crucial for every member of society, particularly those involved in educational institutions, to understand the concepts of gender equality and gender justice as the first step towards bridging the gap. To address this issue, a community service program has been initiated to enhance teachers’ understanding of gender equality and justice concepts at SMA Negeri Bali Mandara. The expected outcome of this program is to create equal opportunities for all school members, including male and female teachers, in career development and as significant contributors to education, driving gender-responsive schools.
